I really enjoyed how Ella Enchanted reimagines Cinderella with a fresh and witty voice. What stood out to me was Ella’s journey of self-discovery and empowerment despite the curse that forces her obedience. Levine’s writing balances whimsy with real emotional depth, making Ella relatable and inspiring. The blend of fairy tale magic and a strong heroine made the story feel both timeless and modern. Did anyone else find the way Ella challenges her curse particularly empowering? How do you think the curse shapes her character growth throughout the story?

One thing I loved about Ella Enchanted was how it didn’t just retell the Cinderella story but added complexity to the characters and their motivations. Ella isn’t a passive princess waiting to be rescued; she actively fights for her freedom and happiness. The humor sprinkled throughout lightened some of the darker themes, making it accessible but meaningful. I also appreciated the supporting characters, who each added layers to the story. Which character besides Ella did you find the most compelling, and why do you think they were important to the narrative?
