How do you think Feist's portrayal of magic compares to other fantasy novels you've read?

What struck me most about Magician was how it balances epic battles and intricate court politics without losing sight of the characters’ emotional journeys. The layers of tension between the humans and the Tsurani added a lot of depth to the story, making the stakes feel very real.
