Picked this up on a long train ride, mostly because I wanted something cozy but a little mischievous. Ended up sticking with it way longer than I planned. The whole vibe feels like childhood freedom mixed with danger you’re not quite old enough to name.

I read it before bed and it just worked for that. Not scary in a gross way, more like tense and exciting. I liked the voice, it felt very “kid logic” while still keeping things moving. Astrid Lindgren has that knack for making you care about someone small who’s trying to be brave.
